MCIC Vermont announced the selection of John C. Evanko, MD MBA as its Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, effective April 28, 2017. As Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Evanko will lead MCIC Vermont’s Patient Safety and Loss Prevention initiatives, support MCIC Vermont’s claims and risk management efforts, and join the management team to oversee the company's strategic direction.
Dr. Evanko has been employed at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center since 1995. He is Board Certified in American Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Evanko is an accomplished physician executive who has served in multiple leadership roles including Chief Medical Officer, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Columbia University Medical Center and Lawrence Hospital.
Dr. Evanko is uniquely qualified to assume the role of MCIC Vermont’s Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. He possesses 16 years of experience as a board certified physician. He has also obtained a MBA from Columbia’s Business School and led multiple clinical transformation initiatives that align value, cost and outcomes within physician and hospital performance metrics. Dr. Evanko is passionate about high quality healthcare delivery with focus on patient safety and patient experience.
Dr. Evanko received his A.B. in Biology from Princeton University, attended New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY, completed his internship and residency at NYP/CUMC, and subsequently obtained his M.B.A. from Columbia University Business School.
